As part of the shift from MGA94 to MGA2020 additional simultaneous GNSS observations were required to selected 1st Order survey marks located on the Eyre Peninsula to update part of the South Australian component of GDA 2020.
The GNSS observations were carried out on the Wednesday 3rd August 2016 from 9.35am and 4pm, with no data to be logged before 9.30am as the data was to be observed on the same UTC Day.
It was a requirement for at least one surveyor to be present onsite for the duration of the observation to monitor equipment, provide continuous power supply and ensure the stability of the tripod against interference from stock or adverse weather conditions.
We were provided with a detailed survey brief for each survey mark which included property owner contact details, current survey mark information and detailed access diagrams some a lot more detailed than others.
There were six survey marks in the network.
