At John C Bested & Associates, we provide expert surveying services for various projects across South Australia. Our team ensures accuracy, reliability, and the highest service standards, from small residential developments to large infrastructure projects. Below are some of our key projects that showcase our capabilities in engineering, laser scanning, and UAV surveys.
We conducted a comprehensive engineering survey of the Port Dock Railway, carpark, and surrounding road network. This project utilised terrestrial laser scanning to capture precise data, with string and point data delivered in MX Genio and AutoCAD DXF formats. Conventional survey methods were also employed to document all underground services.
Our survey team performed a detailed laser scan of the Port Dock Railway Museum, capturing key engineering data for design and analysis. The fieldwork combined advanced laser scanning technology and conventional surveying to ensure high levels of accuracy for both surface and underground infrastructure.
This project involved an aerial UAV survey from Chainage 25km to Chainage 26km for the APY Lands Main Access Road upgrade. Spanning 145km from Iwantja (Indulkana) to Kaltjiti (Fregon), the survey provided essential road design and construction data.

We conducted an engineering survey at MM432 on the Stuart Highway to support the design and construction of a truck parking bay for the Department of Transport, Planning, and Infrastructure SA. This project utilised both conventional and UAV survey techniques. All data was processed and delivered in MX Genio and AutoCAD DXF formats according to SUR-CT003 standards.
Our team surveyed six locations along the Oodnadatta Track, covering areas between Marla and Oodnadatta. These surveys were conducted to aid in road design and flood mitigation. Using UAV technology and conventional survey methods, we captured data following SUR-CT003 specifications for the Department of Transport, Planning, and Infrastructure SA.
This project involved a combination of laser scanning and conventional survey techniques along Golden Grove Road to assist with road design. All surface, point, and string data were extracted and delivered in MX Genio and AutoCAD formats to meet SUR-CT003 standards.
Our team surveyed South Road between Corunna Avenue and Dunorlan Road in Melrose Park as part of the Metro Bundle Engineering Survey Package. We employed laser scanning technology to capture accurate surface and underground features. Data was processed and delivered in MX Genio / AutoCAD formats to align with SUR-CT003 standards.
At John C Bested & Associates, we pride ourselves on delivering accurate and reliable survey data to support infrastructure development throughout South Australia. Whether it's laser scanning, UAV mapping, or conventional survey methods, our expertise ensures the success of every project.
